Alaska Man Injured While Working on Truck at Honokohau Harbor

A 46-year-old Alaska man was seriously injured following a public accident at the Honokohau Small Boat Harbor on Friday, March 19.

Responding to a 2:08 p.m. call, Hawai`i Police Department officers determined that a light blue 1993 Ford F250 pickup truck had run over the man as he was working underneath the vehicle in the parking lot of the Big Island Sailing Foundation at the north side of the harbor. No one was in the vehicle at the time of the accident. 

The man, who has not been positively identified, was transported to the Kona Community Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
