A retired police detective from Hilo has been arrested and charged on the strength of a grand jury indictment.
Hawai`i Police Department officials say that on July 16, just after 2:30 p.m., 56-year-old Brian Miller turned himself in at the East Hawaiʻi Detention Facility.
He was released after posting $50,000 bail.
The indictment alleges Intimidating a witness, Tampering with a witness, Retaliating against a witness, Terroristic threatening in the second degree and Harassment. This is all stemming from a May 14 incident in Hilo.
Miller’s next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Kona Circuit Court.
