The Hawai`i County Fire Department responded to a structure fire on 27th Avenue in Hawaiian Paradise Park on Monday morning.
Crews arrived shortly after 5 a.m. to find a residential structure fully engulfed in flames.
HFD crews extinguished the fire and didn’t notice anyone on the property. An additional structure on the property was saved.
Fire officials say the reporting party noted that there were possibly squatters occupying the house.
The home is owned by an financial institution.
A total of 13 firefighters responded in the incident.
