A structure fire at a residence on Kamaili Road in Pahoa burned Friday night.
Hawai`i County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene at 10:37 p.m. to find the single-story dwelling fully involved in flames with a collapsed roof.
HFD reports that the occupant of the home was able to get themselves out of the structure and was unharmed.
The fire was under control by 11:10 p.m. and out by 12:13 a.m.
Fire officials say the fire caused a 100 percent loss and has been deemed “accidental.” The scene was turned over to the Hawai`i Police Department.
A total of 12 HPD personnel responded to the fire.
