A structure fire along Kahakai Boulevard in Hawaiian Beaches claimed a single-story dwelling on Friday afternoon.
Hawai`i County Fire Department crews arrived on scene at 1:55 p.m. to find the structure fully involved and flames encroaching on a neighboring home.
Firefighters contained the flames and had it under control by 2:45 p.m. The fire was deemed fully out at 3:49 p.m.
HFD officials say the occupants were reported to be squatters living in the unoccupied structure. They self-evacuated prior to HFD arrival. No injuries were reported.
The structure was deemed a 100 percent loss.
