Structure Fire Burns Hilo Home

A Sunday morning structure fire on Mauna Loa Street in Hilo caused about $200,000 in damage.

The Hawai`i County Fire Department arrived at the scene of the home at 10:48 a.m. to find the two story, approximately 3,000 square foot, structure fully involved in flames.

All occupants were out of the home and accounted for.

The fire was out by 11:08 a.m.

HFD turned the scene over to fire inspectors for ongoing investigation. The cause of the fire has been undetermined.
