The Hawai`i County Fire Department responded to a kayaker in distress offshore of Mahukona Park on Sunday morning.
Crews arrived on scene at 10:55 a.m. to find a male party in a kayak approximately two miles offshore of the park who unable to return to shore.
Officials say that the responding unit was able to visually see the distressed man and Chopper 2 was used to hover over the kayak until personnel onboard a jet ski reached him.
The man was towed in his kayak to Mahukona wharf.
He was not in need of any medical attention.
HFD says that strong offshore winds were the cause of the mans difficulty.
