New attack warning siren tones are set to be tested monthly to alert residents of a nuclear missile attack, according to the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency.
Starting Friday, Dec. 1 at 11:45 a.m., you’ll hear this sound throughout the state. It will be the old siren for 50 seconds with a 10 second pause followed by the new tone for 50 seconds.
Testing will take places on the first of every month. The first one is confirmed for this Friday despite Tuesday’s missile launch out of North Korea.
