In celebration of Arbor Day in Hawai`i on November 4, the Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Wildlife invites native plant enthusiasts to plant sales and giveaways happening across the state this weekend.
DOFAW plant nurseries on Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Maui, and Hawaiʻi island will be offering a variety of native plants to encourage their use in home gardening and landscaping.
On Friday, November 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Kamuela State Tree Nursery, the public can purchase small dibbles, two gallon pots, for $1 to $11.
The selection of plants include native, windbreak, timber, and landscape plants. Only cash will be accepted.
At the Hilo Baseyard Nursery plant sales will take also take place on Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Only cash will be accepted at this site, as well.
