The Department of Water Supply said crews will work through the Fourth of July holiday to continue repairs to the Keahuolu Deepwell.
Residents in North Kona continue to be asked to restrict water use to health and safety needs and to cease irrigation activities.
Work to install the replacement pump and motor is underway. Crews continue to work double shifts to complete the repairs, according to DWS officials.
The estimated completion date is still expected to be by Sunday, July 9.
DWS continues to monitor for unnecessary water use.
A water tanker remains located on Hina Lani Street between Anini Street and Manu Mele Street and a water spigot on a fire hydrant along Ane Keohokalole Highway, between Kealakehe Parkway and Kealakehe High School.
