The Hawai`i County Fire Department responded to a brushfire on 35th Avenue and Orchidland Drive Thursday afternoon that burned approximately 3.6 acres.
Authorities responded to the scene at 2:43 p.m. to find a smoldering brush fire initially covering a 20-by-60-foot inaccessible area.
HFD reports spot fires later ignited in different nearby areas as a result of light wind and dry vegetation.
The fire was deemed under control within 30 minutes. No cause has been determined.
